What is new with Oracle CRM on Demand Release 16 PDF Print E-mail
So, Oracle announced that R16 is now available for all new clients and they are in the process of upgrading all current R15 instances to R16.

What can you expect from the new R16. Obviously there are numerous changes and I will only address the main ones here so please don’t assume these are all the changes.

Partner Relationship Management (PRM) is significantly improved with R16. PRM is an optional module for Oracle CRM on Demand which enables organisations and businesses to extend and share the benefits of their current CRM solution with their valuable network of partners.  You will find increased functionality and opportunities with

  •     Partner program management
  •     Partner content management
  •     Lead and opportunity management
  •     Deal registration
  •     Marketing development funds

If you are looking to help your partners improve their results or focus on specific clients you are now able to provide them with this great integrated solution with your own CRM assets.

Updated User Interface

With CRM on Demand R16 Oracle introduced several changes to its “look and feel”. Oracle already had a strong focus on Social CRM and web 2.0 features and CRMOD R16 is another step to help improve user adoption.

·         There are features such a record preview feature where you don’t even have to click on a record to see it’s key data but it will be immediately displayed just by hovering over or clicking a new icon (each user can change the settings for their own preference)  next to fields such as name, account, opportunity etc.

·         A new inline editing feature on related lists makes it even easier and quicker to update data without having to click through to another record. For example, you can view a list of contact associated to an account and without having to go to the contact record you can now update their telephone number without even clicking on an “Edit” button. This enables users to rapidly edit or access critical information with a loss less clicking around.

·         It is also easier to configure your search configurations and the search capabilities have been significantly improved.

What CRM should not be like

 

A few years ago while I working on a CRM project for ABN AMRO in Amsterdam I saw a viral video about how CRM should not be used. It is obviously intended to be funny and you require sound to fully appreciate this joke. These days data privacy is a major concern and this video points directly to that. Please enjoy and don't use this as a guideline of what to do in your next CRM project strategy session.
